How to get the right Splashtop Enterprise app?

Splashtop Enterprise currently provides client apps in the following platforms:

  • Windows
  • Mac
  • iOS (iPhone and iPad)
  • Android (android 7 and above)

Given the convenience and power of multiple platform support, the users may however be confused with the versions and editions of the Splashtop Enterprise client apps. This article guides the end users to get the right Splashtop Enterprise app.

 

Download from Splashtop Enterprise Gateway web portal

Similar to Streamers, Splashtop Enterprise Gateway web portal provides Enterprise client app download for Windows, Mac and Android. The end users can log in to the web portal to download using his own account. Refer to the article below on how to access the Splashtop Enterprise Gateway web portal.

Access Splashtop Enterprise Gateway Web Portal

Once logged in to the web portal, the user should see the Downloads section, where direct download for Android (APK file), macOS (DMG) and Windows (EXE) is available. A simple click should get you the right Splashtop Enterprise app. For iPhone and Android, you will be re-directed to the App Store and Play Store respectively for downloading.

Download from App Store/Play Store

For mobile devices, it is actually easier to download the Splashtop Enterprise app directly from the App Store/Play Store.

If you are an iPhone/iPad user, search "Splashtop Enterprise" in App store. Scroll until you find the app named "Splashtop Enterprise RS", standing for Splashtop Enterprise for Remote Support. Install the app and you are ready to connect.

*There is an app named "Splashtop Enterprise". Please be reminded this app is for Splashtop Enterprise Legacy version (version number 2.x.x.x). The legacy Splashtop Enterprise apps are not compatible with the current Splashtop Enterprise.

If you are an Android user, search "Splashtop Enterprise" in Play Store. Choose to install Splashtop Enterprise (not the Legacy one).

For Admin to update the Splashtop Enterprise app download in the Gateway

From time to time, Splashtop releases new versions of Splashtop Enterprise client apps to enhance the performance, stability and security with clear statement about version compatibility. The administrator is responsible for uploading and maintaining the versions of client apps in Splashtop Enterprise Gateway. 

1. Upload to Splashtop Enterprise Gateway

Log into Splashtop Enterprise Gateway web portal as System Administrator, and go to System > Software > Enterprise App. Click Upload to upload the new version into the system.

Browse the installer, check the "Set this pkg as active" option and start uploading.

Only "pkg" files are accepted to upload. Please approach Splashtop Support to get "pkg" installer.

2. Set the right version as active

In the same Software page, the Administrator can activate and de-activate any of the installers. The end users will only see the active installers in the deployment page.
