How do I create a user?

Splashtop Center supports creation of two types of users:

  • Gateway user -- this type of user will be managed by Splashtop Center.
  • Domain user -- this type of user will be managed by Active Directory in the corporate network.


To create a Gateway user, do the following steps:

  1. Launch the Splashtop Center application.
  2. Go to the Users tab.
  3. Select Add to create a new user.
  4. Select the user type:  Gateway.
  5. Enter the user's e-mail address, and other information such as selecting the Policy to be applied.
  6. Click OK to create this new user.


The IT department can either preset the password or provide an activation code to the user for them to create their password.

To create a Domain user, perform the following steps:

  1. Launch the Splashtop Center application.
  2. Go to the Users tab.
  3. Select Add to create a new user.
  4. Select the user type:  Domain user.
    Please note, if the current computer is not yet logged in to the domain, then after you do Step 4, a Login window will open, and you will need to log in as a domain user on Splashtop Center to join the host server into the Active Directory domain.
  5. Locate/query the user's e-mail address via User logon name and Check button.
  6. Click OK to save and create this new user.
