Splashtop Center Installation - Port error message

You will receive the following warning message if you restart the Splashtop Center service after having selected a network port that is occupied by other software within the host OS:

 

The specified port: {_port_number_} is occupied by {_software_process_name_}.  Please close or change the port settings in {_software_process_name_}.  Or configure the Gateway settings in Splashtop Center in order for Splashtop Center service to function properly.

 

If you encounter this warning message, try to use another network port either for Splashtop Center or for that software application.

note.gif  NOTE:  Port changes in Splashtop Center require a restart of the Splashtop Center service, as well as the clients and Streamers needed, to update the Splashtop Center address accordingly.
